DevBlog #8

Hey there, everyone.

December has been an exciting month!

A lot of work has been put into the alpha, and we also have been working on a small treat for you! In case that you haven't noticed , sign-ups for the alpha have started! Even though you'll be able to download the alpha fine without signing up, you will lose the chance to experience exclusive content, so go ahead and sign up now!

Now, the alpha itself should be out at some point during early 2011, so we are looking forward for your feedback. If you don't believe in Santa Claus (>.>) and didn't get a present on Christmas you'll still get a small one in the form of a teaser trailer on New Year's Day! A small playthrough with commentary is in the works as well, so check the forum now and then for more updates!

For now, this devblog will be feauturing the Dupree Market, one of the locations that Vazill will be visiting in the alpha.

The Citadel houses a myriad of shopping areas; some specialized, some offer a little bit of everything. The Dupree Market falls into the latter category: whether you shop for armor, weapons, tech-equipment or mining accessories you'll find it here.

Aside from offering something for everyone, it has additional advantages: to begin with the Dupree Market suffered little damage during the Geth attack in 2183 and is still fully functional. It is also located near a heavily frequented custom area and well connected to the public transportation system of the Citadel. Thanks to the nearby C-Sec offices the Dupree Market is one of the shopping areas with the lowest crime rates on the Citadel.

Within walking distance you'll also find the Presidium with it's extensive artificial lake and recreational areas. However, if you prefer to danec through the night or enjoy a night at the clubs, you'll also find what you're looking for.

Finally, remember the treat that we have been talking about? Here is a part of it:

Best wishes
